Volta/Vault Ciascuna campata comprende tre riquadri con le muse, rilevate a stucco, che danno il nome all’ambiente. Nel riquadro al centro della campata mediana la musa è abbracciata da Apollo. Le muse sono circondate da emblemi classici e moderni, affrescati entro cornici che riportano fedelmente geroglifici egizi (ben conservati quelli delle due campate laterali). Each bay includes three panels with the stucco muses that give their names to the room. The middle panel in the central bay contains Apollo embracing a muse. The muses are surrounded by frescoed classical and modern symbols within frames bearing accurately reported Egyptian hieroglyphics (the ones in the two side bays are well conserved)

Parete Ovest/West wall Come sulla parete opposta, l’architettura dipinta dei portali è sormontata dallo scudo araldico dei Gonzaga, affiancato da amorini che trattengono e legano le aquile, allusive a quelle dipinte nello stemma. As on the opposite wall, the painted architecture on the portals is surmounted by the Gonzaga coat of arms and flanked by putti that restrain and tie up the eagles, to connect up with ones painted in the armorial bearings.

Parete Nord/North wall Gli affreschi, molto danneggiati, derivano il soggetto dalle Georgiche di Virgilio e dalle Metamorfosi di Ovidio. The badly damaged frescoes are based on Virgil’s Georgics and Ovid’s Metamorphoses.
