Dopo aver raccomandato di continuare la guerra, torna a Cartagine, come aveva giurato, e viene messo a morte in una botte irta di chiodi.

Il legislatore della Locride Zaleuco emana una legge che prevede l’accecamento di entrambi gli occhi degli adulteri. Trovato in adulterio il figlio, concilia il rispetto della legge e l’amore paterno facendo togliere un occhio al figlio e uno a se stesso.

The judgement of Zaleuch
The legislator of Locride Zaleuch introduced a law stating that both eyes of all adulterers should be blinded. Discovering his son to be adulterer, he reconciled his respect for the law and love of his son by blinding one of his son’s eyes and one of his own.
